Flyers claim forward Kieffer Bellows on waivers from New York Islanders

The Philadelphia Flyers announced the club has claimed forward Kieffer Bellows on waivers from the New York Islanders, according to President of Hockey Operations & General Manager, Chuck Fletcher.

Bellows, 24 (6/10/98), skated in one game with the Islanders this season (Oct. 13 vs. Florida). The 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Edina, Minn., owns 25 points (11-14=25), 25 penalty minutes (PIM), four game-winning goals (GWG) and 109 shots in 68 career games. in four seasons with New York (2019-23). The left-shot forward set career highs during the 2021-22 campaign in goals (6), assists (13), points (19) and PIM (19). He also recorded five points (2-3=5) in a career-high four-game point streak from Dec. 19, 2021-Jan. 13, 2022.

Bellows totaled 50 points (34-16=50), 150 PIM, six power-play goals (PPG), five GWG and 280 shots in 125 career games in two seasons (2018-20) with Bridgeport of the American Hockey League (AHL). ). He led the Sound Tigers in scoring (31) during the 2019-20 season. He also collected three points (2-1=3) in five Calder Cup Playoff games in 2019. Bellows won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2017 World Junior U-20 Championships and a bronze medal at the 2018 World Junior U-20. Championships. He set a World Junior Championship record in 2018 with nine goals in a single tournament and led the tournament in goals and ranked third in points (10).

Bellows was selected by the Islanders in the first round (19th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft. He tallied his first NHL point (assist) in his NHL debut on Feb. 4, 2020 vs. Dallas.
