WASHINGTON – GW Golf Head Coach Chuck Scheinost has announced the addition of Florian Blatti as an Assistant Coach for the 2022-23 season.
“I’m very excited to have Florian join our coaching staff,” said Scheinost. “Having played here, he knows our program and what we strive to build. In addition, he has a vast knowledge of the game and has played golf at a high level,” said Scheinost.
“He will be a big asset for our young team with four first-years arriving in Foggy Bottom ready to leave their mark on our program.”
In his graduate season with GW, Blatti helped GW tie for fourth place at the Atlantic 10 Championship with a six-over-par 222 to place 36th overall. Blatti put together a season-low five-over-par 221 (75-72-74) at the Wofford Invitational on April 12.
Prior to his time at GW, the Switzerland native spent four seasons with George Mason’s golf program. Blatti’s time with the Patriots can be highlighted by a career-best finish at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate in 2021, where he finished third among 82 golfers with a two-under-par 214 (74-72-68).
Blatti will work alongside Scheinost, who enters his ninth season at the helm.
