Elgar Coaches upgrades workshop with Totalkare mobile column lifts

A Worcestershire-based coach company has improved its workshop facilities with the purchase of mobile column lifts from experts in workshop equipment, In total.

Family-run Elgar Coaches provides holiday and excursion travel services across the UK, operating and maintaining a fleet of transport vehicles, ranging from midi to full size 55-seater executive coaches. The operator is a long-term user of In total vehicle lifting equipment, with working legacy models in the workshop including the SVL and RG, which was first manufactured by In total in 1980

Upgrading to the T8AC lifting system will add greater flexibility Elgar Coaches’ in-house maintenance capabilities due to the adjustable forks (to accommodate a variety of wheel diameters) and the ability to connect the lifts in configurations of four or six to cover twin or tri – axle coaches. The T8AC also offers a greater lifting capacity of 7,500kg per column compared to the legacy models.

The new lifts come as the Elgar Coaches depot moves to new facilities in Peachley Court Farm Business Park which provides more space for in-house facilities. In-house workshops reduce travel and waiting time, improving efficiency, reducing their carbon footprint while saving time and costs.

Nick Portlock, partner of Elgar Coaches, says: “We are excited about the new addition to our workshop. We are sure the T8AC mobile column lifts will save us time and the costs associated with frequently servicing a mixed fleet of passenger transport vehicles, which in turn will enable us to have as many of our vehicles on the road as possible.

“We have a long established relationship with In totaland are pleased with its products and quality of service support.”

For George Georgiou, Area Sales Manager In totalsays: “It is important to us that our customers receive a brilliant service at every stage, and it is continuing relationships such as these that demonstrate the quality of what we do at In total and the value of our mobile column lifts to heavy duty vehicle workshops.”

As with its existing mobile column lifts, the T8AC set will be supported by a comprehensive service contract from In total.
