Eberle leads Lady Indians to eighth title; Central takes third at KIT

Aug. 14—On Monday, Elizabeth Eberle nailed a birdie putt on the second hole of a playoff to claim her first individual championship of the season.

She found herself in a similar situation on Saturday.

The Madison Central senior shot a 72 at the Joy of Golf Tournament, which was held at Wild Turkey Trace in Lawrenceburg. That put her in a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard.

This time around, though, Eberle only needed one hole to take the title.

The senior knocked down a 30-foot putt to beat out Jenna Estavella of Whitefield Academy and Isabella Wiley of Shelby County.

Led by Eberle, the Lady Indians rolled to their eighth tournament title of the season — in nine events. Central shot a 304, beating out Owen County by 16 shots.

Franklin County was third and Henry Clay (339) was fourth.

Central’s Mollie Neeley shot a 75 and finished sixth. Lydia Harrel finished with a 77. Claira Beth Ramsey shot an 80 and Abi Buchanan fired an 83.

Playing as an individual, Madison Central’s MacKenzie Federspiel shot a 76.
