Dream Gap Tour with US, Canada Olympic stars to be hosted by Capitals

United States Olympians Kendall Coyne Schofield, Megan Keller, Amanda Kessel, Hilary Knight and Maddie Rooney, and Canada Olympians Melodie Daoust, Jocelyne Larocque, Sarah Nurse, Marie-Philip Poulin and Emerance Maschmeyer are among the players expected to play in the 2022-23 season. Secret Dream Gap Tour at MedStar Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Virginia on March 4-5.

The four Dream Gap Tour games, featuring Team Harvey’s, Team adidas, Team Scotiabank and Team Sonnet, will be part of the Washington Capitals’ Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association Showcase. The Capitals will also host on-ice girls hockey clinics on March 2 (high school) and March 3 (youth), and an adult chalk talk session on March 3.

PWHPA athletes and coaches will lead instruction for both clinics as well as the adult chalk talk session. PWHPA lead operations consultant and former Canadian Olympic star Jayna Hefford will be among those participating in the chalk talk.

This is the second consecutive year the Secret Dream Gap Tour still stops at MedStar Capitals Iceplex.

The PWHPA was founded in 2019 with the goal of creating a sustainable league that provides equity, fairness, and opportunity in women’s professional hockey, and has more than 100 members.

Team Harvey’s will play Team adidas in the first game of this year’s showcase, at 11 am on March 4, followed by Team Scotiabank against Team Sonnet at 2:30 pm On March 5, Team Sonnet will play Team Harvey’s at 11 am and Team adidas will play Team Scotiabank at 2:30 pm
