Draymond Green seeks X-ray after Domantas Sabonis ankle grab

Report: Draymond claims Domas caused ankle injury, seeks X-ray originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

Domantas Sabonis remained lying on the hardwood for several minutes after Draymond Green stomped on him in the fourth quarter of the Warriors-Kings first-round Game 2 playoff matchup.

It turns out he wasn’t the only one injured from the mix-up, though, which resulted in Green’s ejection and a technical foul assessed to Sabonis.

After Golden State’s 114-106 loss to Sacramento, Green asked for an X-ray on his right ankle, Andscape’s Marc Spears reportedciting sources, adding that Green believes the injury came from Sabonis grabbing his ankle before he got tossed.

At this time, it’s unknown what the results of Green’s X-rays are.

Sabonis grabbed Green’s ankle as he lay on the floor, which, Green explained after the game, was the reason why he lost his balance and stepped on him.

“My leg got grabbed,” Green told reporters postgame. “Second time in two nights. Referees just watch it. I have to land my foot somewhere. I’m not the most flexible person, so that’s not stretching.

“I can only step so far, and I was pulling my leg away. It is what it is.”

Immediately following the game, Sabonis underwent X-rays of his ribs/lungs. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski later reported that the X-rays came back negative.

The NBA has not yet announced further disciplinary action for Green or if a suspension is warranted.
