Desktop second display: Want a second display for your desktop? Use your laptop. Here’s how

Sometimes two displays can help with faster multitasking, with one showing your apps and the other one for the reference windows and tabs. A wired connection may not be suitable as most laptop display ports output to other devices and do not receive inputs. However, it is not a problem if both systems are on Windows and share the same wi-fi network.

(Alternatively, select systems on the desktop, go to displays – multiple displays and then choose to connect to a wireless device.)

Select Extend from the options that appear on the screen.

Search for –connect to a wireless display and click on the name of your laptop when that appears.

The two displays are now linked. Similarly, you can connect a Mac to an iPod as a second display with Mac OS.
