SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have signed a forward Lawson Crouse to a five-year contract. As per club policy, the terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“We are very pleased to sign Lawson to a long-term contract,” said Armstrong. “He is a big, strong, skilled power forward and we look forward to him being a big part of our future.”
The 24-year-old Crouse registered 20-14-34 and 52 penalty minutes (PIM) in 65 games in 2021-22. He set NHL career highs in goals, assists (tied), points, power-play goals (3), power-play points (7) and game-winning goals (4).
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound forward tied for the team lead in game-winning goals while finishing first over Arizona with 181 hits. Additionally, Crouse ranked third on the team in goals and sixth in points.
The Mt. Brydges, ON native became the seventh player (eighth instance) in franchise history to record a hat trick with a power-play goal, shorthanded goal and an even-strength goal in the same game when he scored his first career hat trick at OTT on Mar. 14.
Crouse, who was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round (11th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, has totaled 56-54-110 with 253 PIM in 346 career NHL games with Arizona.
He was acquired by the Coyotes from the Panthers with forward Dave Bolland in exchange for a conditional third round draft choice in 2017 and a conditional second round draft choice in 2018 on August 25, 2016.
