Corsair’s First Gaming Laptop Now on Sale, Starting at $2,699

Corsair’s first gaming laptop is finally on sale, and it will set you back at least $2,699.

The PC accessory maker launched the Voyager a1600 today through Corsair’s website and via major retailers, including Best Buy. Customers can also order one through Corsair’s Origin business with a customized backplate.

The Voyager 1600 is designed for gamers, content creators, and streamers looking for a high-end machine packed with cutting-edge features. One of them is the 16-inch IPS screen, which has a high 240Hz refresh rate and a 2,560-by-1,600 resolution.

In addition, the aluminum-built laptop comes with an LCD-powered display under the main screen that contains 10 programmable shortcut keys, although owners have the option to disable the display. The laptop’s RGB-lit keyboard also uses Cherry MX ultra-low profile switches for a satisfying typing experience similar to a mechanical keyboard.

Additional perks include a 1080p30 web camera, four built-in microphones with noise cancellation, and an SDXC card reader, along with Wi-Fi 6E. In “quiet mode,” owners can expect six to eight hours on a single charge; the battery is replaceable. In extreme mode for high frame rates, the battery life will drop to two to three hours.

The laptop also contains two USB 4.0 ports with Thunderbolt 3 compatibility, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, or a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port.

The $2,699 model comes with AMD’s Ryzen 7 6800HS, an 8-core, 16-thread CPU processor with a max clock speed of 4.4GHz. For graphics, the laptop uses an AMD Radeon RX 6800M mobile GPU.

The LCD display can be configured to display battery life or be shut down, according to Corsair.

Customers looking for a little more CPU power can buy the $2,999 model, which contains AMD’s Ryzen 9 6900HS processor. The chip still features 8 cores and 16 threads, but the max clock speed can hit over 4.8GHz.

The $2,999 version also has double the DDR5 RAM at 32GB, and double the PCIe 4.0 NVME SSD storage at 2TB, but the GPU remains the same.

Both laptops can run on Windows 11 Home or the more expensive Windows 11 Pro. During a livestream on Thursday, the company also said it could one day expand the laptop to incorporate Intel and Nvidia components, but for now, Corsair is focused on selling AMD-powered Voyager a1600 models.
