Cordillera police get 46 new mobile cars

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet: Police visibility and patrol operations by the personnel of the Police Regional Office in Cordillera (PRO-COR) are expected to significantly increase in the coming weeks as 46 brand new mobile patrol cars were distributed in the different operating units in the region.

LtCol. Freddie Loazona, chief of PRO-COR’s regional logistics and research development division, disclosed that out of the 46 Toyota Hi-lux 4×4 to be used as personnel carriers by the police, Abra received 19 vehicles and Kalinga PPO received eight vehicles. Three went to Apayao, two to Benguet, and seven were assigned to Ifugao and Mountain Province.

Regional director BGen. Mafelino Bazar said that the new vehicles will help PRO-COR in achieving its target of a response time of less than five minutes for police assistance.

This latest procurement was funded through the appropriations for the Capability Enhancement Programs (CEPs) in 2019, 2021 and 2022 worth P761,219,682. The units had also passed the functional and endurance test ensuring that the specifications provided by the PNP were followed accordingly.
