Cops uncover ‘mobile store houses’ after arrest of three drug dealers

KUALA LUMPUR: Drug dealers are using new methods, such as “mobile store houses” to hide their activists from the police.

Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said that a recent police raid led to the arrest of three drug pushers.

“On Sept 6, a police team raided a condominium in Jalan Ampang, leading to the arrest of two suspects. Also discovered were 6.34g of methamphetamine, 110 suspected ecstasy pills and 1.038kg of marijuana.

“A follow-up raid was conducted on the same day at 2.35pm after the suspects led the police to the carpark of the same condominium. We discovered 45 packets of compressed marijuana leaves, weighing around 44,085kg,” he said at a press conference Thursday (Sept 8).

A third arrest was made at a squatter area in Sentul.

In total, the drug seizures were worth RM115,490.

According to the police, this was the biggest marijuana haul for the district this year.

“The suspects, aged 31 and 32, were found to have records of multiple criminal and drug related offenses. One of the three suspects is also wanted by the police for a drug case.

“This is a new modus operandi that we have found where drugs are kept in cars. It is to keep authorities off their guard as these ‘mobile store rooms’ are kept at carparks and we will need very good intelligence before we can raid and identify these cars,” he said.

All the suspects were remanded until Sept 11.

The drug pushers were also picky with their clientele, he added. They would only deal with trusted and regular customers.

“They would bring samples to customers before bringing the full order. These are very crafty and careful criminals,” he said.
