Connor Clifton destroys Peyton Krebs after a hit on Taylor Hall.

Boston Bruins defenseman Connor Clifton sent a message on Saturday afternoon, and that message was very clear “Don’t Touch” when it comes to Bruins forward Taylor Hall.

Clifton, Hall and the Bruins were taking on the Buffalo Sabers on Saturday when Buffalo Sabers forward Peyton Krebs landed a big time hit on Hall during the game’s second period. Krebs anticipated a pass that was coming Hall’s way in the neutral zone and timed his hit perfectly to hammer the Bruins forward hard into the boards. The hit looked like a solid one and there would have been no penalty called on the play, at least not until Clifton took matters into his own hands.

The Bruins defenseman wasted no time going after Krebs following the hit and Krebs was all too happy to comply, dropping his gloves to the ice. Unfortunately for the Sabers forward though he was brutally outmatched in this exchange and Clifton would make very short work of him indeed.

Clifton would land several unanswered shots to the head of Krebs who would eventually crumble down to the ice, a situation that was a cause for concern in the eyes of Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News. Krebs would head back to the Sabers locker room and he has not yet returned to the Sabers bench nor have the Sabers provided an official update on his status.

The shots not only put Krebs down on the ice but they also appeared to do some damage to his face and/or nose. There was a noticeable streak of crimson along the ice after the onslaught from Clifton, which no doubt will require some repairs in the locker room.

Much to the credit of Peyton Krebs, he got back to his feet under his own power and even appeared to be pumped up about the exchange with Clifton in spite of the fact that he got the worst of it.
