Colts area scout will be present at Will Levis pro day

The Indianapolis Colts will be sending area scout Mike Lacy to the Kentucky pro day to scout quarterback Will Levis on Friday, according to Zak Keefer of The Athletic.

Lacy was the lone representative for the Colts at CJ Stroud’s pro day for Ohio State on Wednesday, and he will reportedly be doing the same for Kentucky at the end of the week.

As the Colts go through the process of figuring out their draft board, specifically which quarterbacks they want most, Levis finds himself right in the thick of the mix.

He, along with Stroud, Alabama’s Bryce Young and Florida’s Anthony Richardson, all have the chance to be selected in the top 10, and there’s an extremely strong chance they’ll all be first-round picks on April 27.

While the Colts will only be represented by one scout, Keefer mentioned that “the team will all but assuredly host Stroud and Levis on top 30 visits” during the month of April leading up to the draft.

Levis has all the tools the Colts want in a quarterback. He’s a strong leader, a tough worker and has elite arm strength. There are some mechanical issues he’ll have to improve, and his decision-making has been questionable, to say the least.

He also regressed statistically during his senior season. Some scouts may see that as a red flag while others may point to a downgrade in surrounding talent.

Levis will be a polarizing prospect for the Colts. He has the makeup and character they want from the most important position in the game, but his ceiling is high enough to warrant the No. 4 overall pick?

We shall see in a month’s time.
