When the 2023 NFL draft finally arrives, the Kansas City Chiefs faithful are expected to be among the most optimistic.
In a recent survey of all 32 NFL teams, Sportsbook Review asked 3,000-plus fans to rate their optimism on a scale of 1 through 10 that their team will draft well in the 2023 NFL draft. The Las Vegas Raiders ranked dead last in the poll (4.12) with the most pessimistic fanbase in the league — and given their recent draft history, it shouldn’t come as a surprise.
As for the Chiefs, fans seem to be giving Brett Veach the benefit of the doubt after he assembled his second Super Bowl-winning roster. At a 7.32 optimism ranking, the only fanbase who came away more optimistic about their team’s drafting ability was the Seattle Seahawks (7.41).
Here’s what the folks at Sportsbook Review had to say about the survey results for Kansas City:
The defending Super Bowl-champion Kansas City Chiefs are a close second at 7.32, buoyed by a string of recent draft successes highlighted by the selection of franchise quarterback Patrick Mahomes taken 10th overall in 2017. Chiefs fans trust their front office, and it shows.
Look no further than the 2022 NFL draft class and their impact during the postseason to see why Chiefs fans are so optimistic. Had this survey been done in the middle of the season, however, it might have turned entirely different results.
Sportsbook Review says they’ll later be surveying the same demographic after the draft has concluded to see how the results of the draft impact the optimism of all 32 fanbases.
