Rodón tea party? Wife Ashley paints funny contrast of Giants’ ace originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

While Carlos Rodón is a bad man on the mound, his wife Ashley presented a different picture of the Giants’ ace on social media.

During Rodón’s dominant outing in San Francisco’s 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday afternoon, Ashley took to Twitter to hilariously point out how different her husband is around their two kids compared to the high-strung (and sometimes NSFW) version Giants fans witness on the mound.

After those back-to-back strikeouts that ended Philadelphia’s sixth-inning threat, Rodón might have used some words that cannot be repeated around his children.

Nevertheless, the 29-year-old Rodón has every right to be pumped. Not only did he whiff 10 batters in the Giants’ walk-off win, but he also achieved the first 200-plus strikeout campaign of his career.

By punching out 10 batters this afternoon, Rodón tied Giants legends Tim Lincecum and Jason Schmidt for most games with double-digit strikeouts in franchise history with nine.

As the Giants enter the final month of the regular season, a big decision awaits Rodón in free agency. Even if he opts out of his player option for the 2023 MLB season, he could still return to the Bay on a new deal.

At any rate, expect Rodón to be a force to be reckoned with on the mound and a polite participant in tea parties.
