Call of Duty Warzone Mobile Could Be Getting Fan Favorite Map

A recent leak promises the return of a very popular Call of Duty: Warzone map to the upcoming Call of Duty Warzone Mobile game.

The Call of Duty community will be happy to hear that the Rebirth Island map might come back soon in the new Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile game. The fan favorite battle royale map was initially released for Call of Duty: Warzone on December 16th, 2020, but has since been removed from the game.

Rebirth Island was inspired by Black Ops 4‘s Alcatraz map and featured a much faster-paced gameplay experience compared to traditional battle royale maps. The small-scale map includes the same unique Gulag respawn system found in Verdansk, but with a smaller number of players (maximum 40 players in a single game). Many Call of Duty fans praised Rebirth Island for being the ideal combination of the series’ traditional dynamic multiplayer, and the slower-paced Battle Royale gameplay. Even though Rebirth Island is no longer available to play, a recent leak suggests that the beloved map will return to Call of Duty Warzone Mobile.

Twitter user Shawn Weber, who is a well-known game news leaker, has posted a tweet in which he mentions several exciting changes coming to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. One of these is the return of the popular Rebirth Island map. Other details specified in the leak were the arrival of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile to several other regions of the world, as well as a substantial content update for the Team Deathmatch experience. The leak hints that the aforementioned changes will come at the beginning of Season 2 Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0which was unfortunately delayed by Activision from February 1st to February 15th.

However, since all this news is just speculation at this point, players are choosing to maintain their skepticism, at the very least until a formal announcement is made. Even if Rebirth Island really comes back for Warzone Mobile, it remains to be seen how similar it would be to the original version of the map. While the gameplay will obviously be much different on mobile, there is no doubt that the platform is more accessible than a console or PC.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was announced in 2022, and is currently available in Limited Release for gamers living in Australia. The mobile game is scheduled for a worldwide release later this year, and will also feature a shared Battle Pass progression and friends list sync across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is in development for Android and iOS devices.
