Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! This week I want to highlight one of our newest programs and presenters, Robby Wilcox, who will teach participants about everything from programming to the Raspberry Pi during Tech Time with Robby. We will be offering Tech Time with Robby for all ages in different sessions.
To start this new series, we will be having a special tech time for all ages this coming Thursday at 5:30 pm, where you can learn how to build your own PC You will get the chance to find out what hardware is needed and how it all works.
Robby is a technology enthusiast with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from FHSU. He is new to Great Bend and is very excited to share his expertise with the community. We are very lucky to have him here at the library, so I hope you will join me in welcoming him to our community and come learn some amazing new things about technology.
Later next Thursday we have Friends Trivia Night at Dry Lake Brewing. Come test your knowledge against other Friends fans while you enjoy a craft beer or another one of Dry Lake’s delicious drinks. Winners will get some fabulous prizes courtesy of the library, as well as a round of drinks on Dry Lake. Registration for teams of up to four people is open now on our website and will be available in person for those who arrive at the brewery by 6:30 pm Once everyone is set up at their tables, we’ll get quizzing at 7 pm!
Next Monday at 4 pm we are offering Creative Teens for grades 6-12 and Messy Art Monday for grades K-5. Story Time is back on Tuesday at 10:30 am On Wednesday at 4 pm we have our Kids’ Book Clubs, Tree House Travelers for ages 5-9 and Follow the Clues for ages 9-12. On Friday, we are offering our first Teen Take & Make of the year. In honor of Kansas Day (January 29), teens can grab a kit with everything they need to make their own State Bird Bookmark. Take it from me, these are super adorable, so pick one up while they last.
