The Brooklyn Nets have issued Kyrie Irving six items to complete in order to return to the team, as reported by the Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Irving was on Friday suspended indefinitely by the Nets without pay for a minimum of five games after initially refusing to apologize for an anti-Semitic post on social media before doing so.
Brooklyn in a statement said it’d made “repeated attempts to work with Irving to help him understand the harm and danger of his words and actions” and that it was “of the view that he is currently unfit to be associated” with the team until he “satisfies a series of objective remedial measures.”

-Apologise and condemn anti-Semitic movie
-Make a $500,000 donation to anti-hate causes
-Complete sensitivity training
-Complete anti-Semitic training
-Meet with ADL and Jewish leaders
-Meet with Nets owner Joe Tsai to demonstrate understanding
“It’s up to him. Again, his actions will speak louder than words,” Nets general manager Sean Marks told The Athletic.
Nike over the weekend suspended its relationship with Irving effective immediately, with the star guard’s shoe deal with the sportswear giant worth approximately $AUD17 million-a-year since 2014 set to be torn up.
Irving faced the media on Friday, with NBA boss Adam Silver pushing for the Nets superstar to issue a clear apology for his actions.
But after he avoided making a clear apology, it prompted the Nets to hand Irving a five-game, with the 30-year-old apologizing later.
Irving, who’s set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, was sensationally ineligible to practice and play with the Nets last campaign due to New York City’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate due to his refusal to get vaccinated.
The NBA world responded to the Nets’ demands for Irving, with many fearing it could spell the end of his career.
