Brookings, Yankton and Rapid City golfers win divisions at Prairie Green in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS — Morgan and Justin Johnson of Watertown finished second over the weekend in the South Dakota Golf Association’s Husband-Wife Championship.

The tourney concluded Sunday at the Prairie Green Golf Course.

The Johnsons shot a 1-over par 145 (73-72) over in the two-day, 36-hole event and finished eight shots behind Brodie Hullinger and his wife Kelly Evans-Hullinger of Brookings. The Hullingers shot 137(71-66).

The Johnsons were seeking a fourth championship in the event. They won the tourney in 2017, 2020 and 2021.

In the 65-plus division, Steve and Cindy Weiland of Yankton topped the field with a 13-over 157 (77-80).

Russell and Cara Boehler of Rapid City won the senior division title with a 6-over 150 (77-73).|
