Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson plans to ‘examine his ENTIRE routine’ this offseason after a disastrous 4-12 campaign that saw Denver miss the playoffs and fire its head coach before the season ended
It’s back to the drawing board for Russell Wilson after his first season in Denver saw him perform vastly below expectations.
Following Sunday’s 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Wilson has only one game left in what is the most disappointing season of his NFL career.
Last week, the Broncos fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett, who only managed a 4-11 record during his time in Denver.
Broncos QB Russell Wilson plans to go back to square one this offseason after a dismal 2022
The nine-time Pro-Bowler is set to have career low touchdowns and completion percentage
After that decision was announced, Wilson told reporters, ‘I wish I could have played better for him.’
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapaport, people familiar with Wilson’s plans say he will be ‘examining everything.’
‘His preparation. His offseason routine to be ready for the season. His in-season routine to be ready for each individual game. What he does. How he does it. What it looks like,’ Rapaport’s report read.
It may seem like overthinking, but after the season the nine-time Pro-Bowler had, it could be exactly what he needs. The 2022 season is, ‘the worst statistical year by far’ for Wilson, according to Rapaport.
Broncos Country only has to endure one more game this season: next week vs. the Chargers
The former Seahawks QB is on the road to having career low numbers for completion percentage, touchdowns, and passer rating.
Additionally, he’ll be sacked the most times in his career which began back in 2012 and includes a Super Bowl title.
Wilson only has one more game left in this nightmare of a campaign – a final homestand against the Los Angeles Chargers.
