Brad Marchand exits Thursday’s game vs. Sabers with injury originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Just about everything had been going right for the Boston Bruins on Thursday until the second period of their game vs. the Buffalo Sabres.

On the same day that they signed star David Pastrnak to a contract extension, the Bruins lost veteran Brad Marchand to injury. The veteran winger left the game with a lower-body injury and was officially ruled out during the second intermission.

It appeared Marchand sustained the injury after being hit into the boards by Sabers defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin. The hit wasn’t called a penalty despite it coming from behind.
