Boston to lose assistant coach Aaron Miles to New Orleans Pelicans

The bench gives, the bench takes away, it seems. The Boston Celtics will reportedly lose another assistant coach in Aaron Miles accordingly to recent reporting from Andscape’s Marc J. Spears. Per Spears, “Miles has agreed … (in) principle to take a similar job with the New Orleans Pelicans.”

“Miles and Pelicans head coach Willie Green worked together with the Golden State Warriors” previously, notes the Andscape reporter, with the news thinning Boston’s bench a bit after the additions of Charles Lee, Sam Cassell, Paul Pressey, and Amile Jefferson to the Celtics ‘ incoming cohort of assistants hired to support head coach Joe Mazzulla after a number of exits since last offseason.

It was unclear whether Boston might bring on more assistants after the Jefferson hire, but it seems probable that the Celtics could offer a job to at least one more prospective assistant before the end of the summer with this news.
