Blue Jays ace calls Yankees star the worst cheater in MLB history

  • by

Alek Manoah did not hold back.

The Toronto Blue Jays ace appeared on an episode of “How Hungry Are You,” presented by Samsung Bespoke where he had to answer “spicy questions” or risk drinking a gross tea.

One of those spicy questions was “Who is the worst cheater in baseball history?” Manoah had his answer ready, and it was New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole.

“He used a lot of sticky stuff to make his pitches better, and he kind of got called out on it,” he said.

Here’s what Cole said in 2021 when asked directly if he used Spider Tack, per the New York Times:

“I don’t know quite how to answer that, to be honest,” Cole said on a Zoom conference with reporters, after searching roughly 15 seconds for an answer. “I mean, there are customs and practices that have been passed down from older players to younger players from the last generation of players to this generation of players. I think there are some things that are certainly out of bounds in that regard, and I’ve stood pretty firm in terms of that, in terms of the communication between our peers and whatnot.”

It will be fun to watch the two pitchers face each other next season.
