Buffalo Bills receiver Gabe Davis did not make that late catch he was awarded against the Minnesota Vikings.
That, straight from the NFL.
In the end, the Bills (6-3) lost 33-30 in overtime to the Vikings (8-1). In order to get there, Davis made a 20-yard reception with 24 yards left.
Eventually Buffalo marched down the field on five plays, gaining 69 total yards. It set up Tyler Bass with a 29-yard attempt to tie the contest, which he connected on.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelisserothings should have been different.
Senior Vice President of Officiating, Walt Anderson, said in the reporter pool after the final whistle that the replay officials should have stopped the game and prompted a review.
Had that happened, in Anderson’s mind, the call would have been overturned.
“It would have been reversed to an incomplete pass because he did not maintain control of the ball after he hit the ground and the ball touched the ground out of bounds,” Anderson said.
Instead, Bills quarterback Josh Allen rushed things to the line of scrimmage and the contest rolled on.
Anderson added that the NFL plans to review the process of what happened to help determine why that unfolded.
While Buffalo might feel that they get shafted by referees… that was not the case in Week 10.
