Best deals for Tua Tagovailoa, Jeff Wilson, more

Putting together a winning DFS roster is like hitting on an eight-leg parlay. You’ve got to be almost perfect and can hardly afford to have any misses in your lineup. Given the money you’re allocated, piecing together that roster can be really dang hard.

Here at Bet For The Win, we want to lend a helping hand. We’ll help you find the low-price, high-reward players that’ll help your roster building.

Week 2 offers more than a few value plays that can turn you into a DFS winner if done right. We pinpoint the must-haves ahead of Sunday’s slate of NFL games.

Quarterbacks

(Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports)

Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins ($6,800)

Can’t help but think that Tua is going to have a really good year now that he has weapons in the wide receiver room. Joe Flacco did just fine last week against Baltimore and now Tua will take it a notch or two higher in Week 2.

Derek Carr – Las Vegas Raiders ($7,300)

Don’t be so quick to turn on Carr after Week 1; that was a good Chargers defense he faced. He’ll be up against a much softer Arizona Cardinal defense this weekend, one he might exploit.

Running Backs

(Daniel Bartel-USA TODAY Sports)

Jeff Wilson – San Francisco 49ers ($6,300)

Elijah Mitchell is injured, again, and it’s time to call on a backup RB, again. The first man in line seems to be Jeff Wilson. Assuming he’ll get the majority of the backfield work, roster him.

Damien Harris – New England Patriots ($5,500)

The Pittsburgh defense is good but their offense is not. The game script should never be less than ideal for Harris. Expect a lot of opportunities and for him to make the most of them.

Darrell Henderson – Los Angeles Rams ($6,200)

It wasn’t Cam Akers in Week 1, it was Darrell Henderson as RB1 for the Rams. It was surprising, he looked decent and there’s no indication the script will flip from Henderson to Akers on Sunday.

Wide Receivers

(Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports)

Curtis Samuel – Washington Commanders ($5,700)

Remember Washington’s big free agent signing a year ago? He was dinged up all of 2021 but now is healthy and a huge piece in the offense. He was used often in the season opener and should have a good time against the Detroit defense that couldn’t slow down the Eagles in Week 1.

Allen Robinson – Los Angeles Rams ($5,700)

It wasn’t a good debut for Robinson, but Rams coach Sean McVay has publicly mentioned the need to get Robinson more involved. Usually, when coaches say that kind of stuff, they follow through on it.

Richie James Jr. – New York Giants ($5,500)

Surprisingly, James Jr. led the Giants in targets and receptions in Week 1. Is his role in the receiver room solidified going forward? It should be for at least another week, which opens the door for a good return on its value.

Tight Ends

(Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports)

Zach Ertz – Arizona Cardinals ($5,200)

We saw the Raiders give up a touchdown to the tight end position a week ago. Maybe Ertz can find his way into the end zone for a consecutive week.

Defenses

(Katie Stratman-USA TODAY Sports)

Cincinnati Bengals ($3,900)

I don’t think we’re going to get another Mike White situation from last year when the Bengals’ defense got torched by a backup. They’re a good defense that feels like a homerun play against the Dak Prescott-less Dallas offense.
