Ben Simmons, Brooklyn Nets, trade rumors, Ime Udoka, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant

While Ben Simmons and the Brooklyn Nets continue to struggle, the Australian’s name has reportedly come up in trade discussions.

The 2-6 Nets are in a world of trouble, with Steve Nash axed, the suspended Ime Udoka reportedly the next man in line, and Kyrie Irving yet to apologize for promoting an anti-Semitic film on Twitter.

On top of that, Simmons has missed the Nets’ last two games due to knee inflammation, and before that, he looked the worst we’ve ever seen him.

In six games, Simmons has averaged 6.2 points, 7.3 assists, and 6.5 rebounds a game.

Now, with the season on the line and Brooklyn’s title window shrinking, a SNY report suggests the Nets will be aggressive in seeking upgrades to their roster.

“I’ll be the first to tell you, there are certainly holes (in our roster). We’re not a finished product,” Nets general manager Sean Marks said this week. “We’re not playing up to our expectations, the way we should be.”

And according to SNY, the Nets have held ‘cursory talks’ with a Western Conference team about a deal that would land them some perimeter shooting.

“Ben Simmons’ name came up in the talks,” Ian Begley reported.

The discussions occurred before Nash’s sacking, but the expectation is that Brooklyn will be aggressive in their pursuit of shooting.

Whether that involves Simmons or not, remains to be seen. But the 26-year-old’s trade value would certainly be at an all-time low.
