Jodie Hearnshaw and Andy Williams
Andy Williams, who has just become Captain of Ben Rhydding Golf Club, has decided to support Airedale Hospital & Community Charity for the duration of his captaincy.
Ben Rhydding Golf Club is a small, volunteer-run club. Each year, the club chooses a charity to support and this year the club has decided to support Airedale Hospital and Community Charity, which is the official NHS charity for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. The charity raises funds to invest in patient experience and staff wellbeing at Airedale hospital and its community services.
The club has a range of events planned to raise funds including regular quiz nights and a charity golf day.
Andy said: “I chose Airedale Hospital and Community Charity as supporting a local charity is important to me. I’m really pleased to be doing this for a good local cause.
“Everyone at the club has been involved with Airedale hospital in one way or another: children have been born and people have been treated here over the years.
“It’s a very charitable club and everyone is definitely up for a few charity golf matches with the Airedale lot next year. I’ve given myself a target to raise £5k over the year and I can’t wait to get started! We have lots of plans that people will be able to get involved in to support a great charity.”
Jodie Hearnshaw, manager at Airedale Hospital and Community Charity, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Andy and everyone at Ben Rhydding Golf Club for choosing to support us in 2023. Any funds that they raise will make a real difference to patients and their loved ones at Airedale Hospital.
“On behalf of everyone at Airedale, thank you! We’re really looking forward to working with Andy and the team; they’ve got some exciting events planned.”
