Amazon US has shaved a quarter off the Beelink GTR5, making a pre-configured model cheaper than the machine when it was launched as a barebones system. AMD may have replaced the Ryzen 9 5900HX with the Ryzen 9 6900HX, but the former remains a powerful option with eight Zen 3 cores, sixteen threads and a 45 W TDP. The Ryzen 9 5900HX also has a Radeon RX Vega 8 iGPU, a downside compared to the more powerful Radeon 680M option in the Ryzen 9 6900HX.
Additionally, the model on offer features 32 GB of DDR4 RAM and 500 GB of M.2 2280 SSD, as well as the GTR5’s usual I/O assortment. For reference, the GTR5 has six USB ports and twin 2.5 Gigabit LAN connections, plus single DisplayPort and HDMI ports. Beelink includes upgradeable storage and RAM too, with dual-channel SODIMM modules and two M.2 2280 slots. Please note that one M.2 2280 slot supports NVMe drives, while the other is only compatible with SATA 3 drives.
At the time of writing, Amazon US has reduced the Beelink GTR5 to US$599, a US$200 saving. In comparison, Beelink released the mini-PC for US$619 as a barebones system, although the company sells a comparable configuration for US$639 in the US.
