ALLENDALE – Bedford’s boys golf team placed 15th Saturday in the Division 1 state golf finals with a two-day today of 678.
Northville captured the title with 605.
The Mules shot 343 on Friday, then got better on Saturday with 335.
“We didn’t really have any expectations going into it,” Bedford coach Brad Reed said. “One of our goals was to make states as a team. We did that, so we decided to have fun and see where we are at.”
Carter Klawonn was low for Bedford with 159. Taleon Guess shot 167, Camden Price 172 and Frank Soss 180.
All of those players will be back next year. Guess is a freshman and the other three are juniors.
“We just wanted to gain some experience and get a feel for it,” Reed said. “Next year we will not have as much nervous energy and maybe we can place in the Top 10.”
