Battlegrounds Mobile India could soon make a comeback in India

BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) could soon make a comeback on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. After the Indian Government officially recognized esports as a sport in the country, the popular battle royale game BGMI which was banned in India earlier in July 2022 could be reinstated on both the app stores. Battlegrounds Mobile India was banned in July by the Government of India without any prior warning and under Section 69A of the IT Act 2000.

According to multiple reports online, BGMI could return to Android and iOS app stores on or before January 15. Pratik “Alpha Clasher” Jogiya and Sohail “Hector” Shaikh are popular BGMI players who, while live streaming on YouTube revealed that BGMI is making a comeback Another player dubbed “predatorsasuke” who claimed to work at Google joined the live stream and revealed that BGMI is making a comeback before January 15 on the Play Store.

As there is no official word on BGMI being reinstated on the app stores, we advise our readers to take this with a pinch of salt. By recognizing esports as a sport in India, the time is now ripe for Krafton to get their most popular battle royale game, BGMI unbanned in India.

At the time of its ban in India, BGMI had raked in over 100 million registered users in India in just one year. It remains to be seen if and when BGMI makes a comeback in India and whether it launches in January 2023.
