A NEW £1million tourist attraction set up at a popular south Essex venue is just days away from opening to the public for the very first time.
Noah’s Park Adventure Golf has been installed at Barleylands, in Billericay, to offer visitors the chance to try their hand at an exciting 18-hole crazy golf course.
It includes an array of animal themes and includes its very own Noah’s Ark, which forms part of the course.
Businessman Allan Pierce is one of the people behind the project and is hopeful it will add a new dimension to the popular Barleylands farm park.

He said: “It is a really fun course which can be quite challenging too.
“We are hoping to be open and fully operational by the weekend after next, providing everything goes to plan.
“It is a really unique course and being at Barleylands it is a well-known place for people to go, and therefore complements what Barleylands already has. “It is so exciting to finally see the project all come together, and we can’t wait to be open to the public.”
Mr Pierce is hopeful the course will prove popular and offer people across south Essex something new.
The course features a variety of tunnels, water features, sand and bridges.
Mr Pierce said: “The scale and whole scheme of it is just massive, we used 25 tonnes of wood chips to complete the course.
“It will also take a good hour to complete the 18-hours, it is a special course.”
He added: “One of the features is a Noah’s Ark, where you can walk inside it and complete one of the holes there.
“Another hole is where you go over the top of the Ark, and you can see the whole course.
“There is a hole with icebergs, where you putt through the iceberg.”
To play on the adventure golf course, you can either pre-book before hand or just turn up and play.
It costs £9.50 per person, or you can get different group tickets including a family ticket for £27.50 which covers two adults and two children.
