Undefeated Australian boxer Tim Tszyu was given the VIP treatment when he rubbed shoulders with NFL superstar Cooper Kupp on Friday.
In the US for a training camp ahead of his highly anticipated bout with super welterweight king Jermell Charlo on January 29 (AEDT) in Las Vegas, the 28-year-old took some time out, meeting up with the 2021 Super Bowl MVP pre- game.
The star athletes swapped jerseys, with Tsuyu seeing the Los Angeles Rams come from behind to beat the LA Raiders 17-16 at SoFi Stadium.
Kupp, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, showed Tszyu how the ‘other people’ live, with the Sydney-raised fighter watching the action from a VIP bunker dubbed the Bootsy Bellows suite.
The players were just meters away, as were the likes of Belarusian entrepreneur Danny Vee, WWE pin-up ‘The Miz’ and rapper Ice Cube.

Superbowl MVP Kupp was impressed by the Aussie fighter, stating he had ‘good energy’
Kupp was impressed by the Aussie, who has a career record of 21-0.
‘Had a good energy about him,’ he said of the orthodox boxer, who also goes by the name ‘The Soul Taker.’
‘You don’t get to meet a lot of athletes these days, so it’s good…he was really supportive.’
Tszyu enjoyed his time away from the ring, but his time abroad won’t involve much sight-seeing.
It is no holiday, and he faces a formidable opponent in Charlo (35-1-1), who currently holds the IBF, WBC, WBA and WBO super-welterweight belts.
The pair also don’t like each other, adding another layer of intrigue to the bout at the Michelob Ultra Arena next month.

‘There’s nothing to lose for me, ‘I’ve got no pressure, the pressure is on him,’ Tszyu told News Corp.
‘He is (Charlo) the one putting pressure on himself…saying he’s going to knock me out in a couple of rounds.
‘I know that’s not going to happen… watch what it does.’
Tszyu isn’t short of confidence himself.
In October, he boldly predicted not only would he knock out Charlo to become the undisputed super-welterweight champion, but he will wear the heavyweight crown too someday.
Nobody in the history of the sport has moved from welterweight to heavyweight and won every strap along the way – but Tszyu believes it is possible.
‘My first goal is, of course, the undisputed Aussie boxer Tim Tszyu gets the VIP treatment as he meets NFL superstar Cooper Kupp at LA Rams gamethat’s all I’m looking for,’ he said.
‘But after that, my mind is going to take me elsewhere. Even to the heavyweights.’
