Assist for Joshua Roy in Canada’s WJC win

It was a good start to the tournament for the 19-year-old winger, who also registered three shots on goal and a plus-1 differential in 18:32 of ice time.

Roy’s helper came on a power play goal by defenseman Lukas Cormier in the second period.

Riley Kidney also suited up for the Canadian contingent. He logged just 4:26 of playing time.

Head coach Dave Cameron’s squad will be in action again on Thursday with a matchup against Slovakia at 6:00 pm ET.

Mysak faces Kapanen, Nurmi and the Finns

Captain Jan Mysak will be looking to build on his strong performance in the tournament opener when Czechia battles Finland on Thursday.

Mysak put up two points (1 goal, 1 assist) earlier this week in a win over Slovakia.

Oliver Kapanen and Petteri Nurmi are still looking for their first points of the event for the Finns.
