In the face of economic uncertainty, tech talent is on the hunt for bigger and better career opportunities. But where are they looking?

To track and better understand where tech talent is headed, document management company SmallPDF recently analyzed how many people are seeking out career opportunities at some of the biggest tech companies in the US, based on monthly Google searches.

The technology landscape has suffered in recent months, with startups and titans alike having gone through rounds of significant layoffs in an effort to shore up operations. But to an increased number of job seekers, that has not diminished the appeal of newly available positions within these organizations as they once again start to focus on growth.

“While some of the US’s most well-known tech companies do indeed make their way into the top 10, many do not, indicating that the job searches for many people are varied and job seekers in the tech field are keeping their options open,” a spokesperson from SmallPDF said in a release. “The companies at the top of the list benefit from the prestige that their brand holds, which helps them attract the best talent, which helps them continue to lead the industry.”

The words ‘Google jobs’ and ‘Google careers’ received more than 339,000 and 148,000 searches a month in 2022, respectively, implying that Google is perhaps the most sought-after employer in the tech space; Apple, which takes the second spot on the top 10, lagged behind by nearly half.

Other notable companies that made the list are Tesla, Facebook and Verizon. Here are the top 10 companies prospective applicants are researching the most:
