Digital product consultancy Apadmi has acquired Dutch firm The Mobile Company.

The acquisition has created the largest team of independent mobile specialists across the Netherlands, UK and Europe.

The deal means the Apadmi Group now has 250 engineers, designers, and digital product experts.

The Mobile Company brand will remain in place along with the existing management team, which boasts ABN-Amro, McCain and Van Ord among its clients.

Apadmi CEO Garry Partington said: “We are thrilled to be joining forces with The Mobile Company. From the first time we met, the fit between the two companies was what excited us.

“We both blend creativity with engineering excellence, to create amazing solutions, solving complex problems for our clients. It’s an exciting time at Apadmi.”

Tech firm Apadmi eyes continued global expansion

Apadmi has delivered 65 percent growth over the last two years and this partnership marks the first part of a plan to become an international digital product leader growing to 1,500 experts in five markets over the next five years.

The Manchester-based business has carved out a position at the forefront of digital product creation across mobile and web working with clients like Co-op, NHS, BBC, Domino’s Pizza and Chelsea FC.

Kees Van Mourik, CEO of The Mobile Company, said: “With our expertise in mobile and digital products as well as similarities in client base delivering work across travel, lifestyle, financial services, energy and healthcare, this is a fantastic step forward as we look to grow together.”

Following the opening of Apadmi offices in Edinburgh, Lisbon and Utrecht earlier this year, The Mobile Company’s Amsterdam HQ gives Apadmi a further foothold in the increasingly buoyant market in the Dutch capital.

Apadmi’s M&A director, Jasper van de Luijtgaarden, said: “Many businesses are well progressed with their digital transformation journeys, but with an extended team of digital product experts now in Amsterdam, we are well-placed to support that process across Europe.”

Apadmi was advised on the acquisition by a team from Ploum and Weightmans headed up by Sarah Walton.
