Andre Drummond explodes as a three-point shooter after being one of the worst shooters in NBA history

The preseason is a time for NBA teams and players to try out new things, and that’s exactly what Andre Drummond is doing for the Chicago Bulls.

The center, who is known for his rebounding ability, isn’t known for his shooting, but he hit all three of his three-pointers in the Bulls’ win over the Toronto Raptors.

It’s a stunning stat for Drummondwho is one of the worst shooters from distance in league history.

In 718 NBA games with the Pistons, Cavaliers, Sixers and Netsthe 29-year-old made just 15 of his 113 attempts from distance, for a success rate of 13.2 percent.

The most he ever made in a season was five back in 2018/19 and 2019/20, yet he managed to hit three in one night against the Raptors.

Drummond is also known for his lack of shooting from the free throw line as well.

His 47.3 percent mark makes him the second worst from the line in NBA history, with Ben Wallace (41.4 percent) the only player with at least 1,200 attempts to have a worse percentage.

Most free throws missed in a game

Drummond also holds the record for most free throws missed in a game at 23.

In a game against the Houston Rockets in January 2016, he converted just 13 of his 36 attempts.

It remains to be seen whether the center will carry his three-point shooting into the regular season, especially since he hadn’t attempted one in his previous two preseason games.
