PITTSBURGH — The Altoona girls soccer team opened its season Friday with a 5-2 loss at North Allegheny in high school action.

Hailey Kravetz scored the Lady Lions only goal, this one coming in the first half. Aubrey Wells scored twice for North Allegheny.

Tigers lost

HOLLIDAYSBURG — The Hollidaysburg girls tennis team fell to 2-1 on Friday, thanks to a 3-2 loss to Fairview in high school action.

The Lady Tigers got singles wins from Gretta Rhodes and Megan Ferris as Fairview improved to 4-0.

SINGLES: 1, Rhodes, H, def. Liu, 7-5, 6-4; 2, Fox, H, def. R. Ferris, 6-3, 6-0; 3, M. Ferris, H, def. Nichols, 6-4, 6-0.

Devils drop match

CURWENSVILLE — The Bellwood-Antis boys golf team (210) lost to McConnellsburg (198) and Curwensville (209) in a match from Thursday at Eagles Ridge Golf Course.

The Blue Devils were led by Ethan Johnston and Josh Dorminy who both finished with 48s.
