Aikman, former NFL quarterback, reveals Terry’s NHL All-Star selection

Troy Terry got a big surprise from the man he was named after.

The Anaheim Ducks had Hall of Fame NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Troy Aikman surprise the forward with a special video announcing his 2023 NHL All-Star selection.

“How cool are we to have the name Troy first of all,” Aikman said in the video. “Now I know why your parents named you Troy, so it makes me feel really proud. But what makes me feel even prouder is the fact that the Ducks organization has given me the honor to let you know that for the second consecutive year, you my friend is an NHL All-Star.”

Terry received cheers and pats on the head from his Ducks teammates after the announcement.

Aikman ended the video congratulating Terry and his wife Dani on the baby boy they are expecting this year.

“Nothing better than being a father; it’s even better than being an All-Star,” Aikman said. “So, enjoy that, congratulations to you. I’m sure proud of you.”

Terry’s father, Chuck, is from Dallas and named his son after Aikman, his favorite Cowboys player. Terry is also an avid fan.

“Wait until I show my dad. It will make my dad cry,” Terry said after the video.
