HYDERABAD: After the JNTUH issued notices to colleges saying many faculty are not marking attendance through biometric devices, technical colleges employees have complained to the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) over irregular salary payment and transportation fee deductions by management.
Members of the Telangana Schools and Technical Colleges Employees Association (TSTCEA) submitted a petition to TSCHE chairman, R Limbadri, and requested him to address their issues.
“The reason for this petition is to bring your attention to the problems faced by faculty members (teaching and non-teaching) at technical institutes (engineering, pharmacy, MBA, MCA) in Telangana state for the past few years,” the petition said. .
The faculty highlighted major problems unresolved for years. Apart from irregular payments, managements are not paying as per AICTE and Telangana Education Act, 1982. Many colleges have not cleared salaries since the pandemic. They alleged that few colleges are depositing salaries as per the norms, but are taking back a part of it in the form of cash or self-checks from the faculty.
“We brought our issues to the notice of officials concerned several times, but they remain unresolved,” said A Santosh Kumar, state president of the association. “We request officials to conduct investigation and ensure justice, form a separate board for faculty, pay them properly through the board and provide quality education to students.”
