ADRIAN — The Adrian boys soccer team had a tough start to the season as it fell to Monroe, 8-0, in a Southeastern Conference crossover.
The Maples (0-1) trailed 4-0 at the half.

IGL Jamboree no. 1
HILLSDALE — The Lenawee Christian girls golf team won the first Independent Golf League jamboree of the season at The Hills of Baw Beese Lake.
The Cougars posted a team score of 183 to lead Columbia Central (198), Clinton (213), Hudson (251) and Hillsdale (262).

Nito Ramos, Clinton: The team shot a score of 213 and finished behind state contender LCS (183) and Brooklyn (198). We had two first time golfers playing their first individual tournament in their career. I was extremely proud of all of the girls today and am looking forward to having them improve throughout the season.

JACKSON — The Maples took to Arbor Hills Golf Club where they took fifth out of 12 teams while Tecumseh took eighth.
The Maples shot a team score of 388 with Quinn Hale leading the way as she took eighth overall.
Tecumseh shot 421 led by Lucy Whelan while Jackson Lumen Christi won the event with a score of 344.

VOLLEYBALL
Clinton Quad
CLINTON — The Redwolves opened the season by hosting a quad where they beat Homer, 25-20, 25-15, Leslie, 25-18, 25-11, and Ypsilanti Lincoln, 22-25, 25-9, 15-10.
Clinton only dropped one set on the day against the Railsplitters, but came back and won the final two in convincing fashion after sweeping Homer and Leslie.
