A 4-man NFL Offensive ROY race: Kenneth Walker III, Garrett Wilson, Christian Watson, Chris Olave

The NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year race opened up a bit after Week 13. And should the league’s Defensive Rookie of the Year race be a little tighter? Here’s what you need to know:

  • Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III saw his lead for the award shrink, according to BetMGM, after three carries for 36 yards in the team’s loss to the Rams. Walker left the game in the first half with an ankle injury.
  • This has allowed players like Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, Packers wide receiver Christian Watson and Saints wide receiver Chris Olave to close the gap on Walker, making this a four-man race.
  • Watson added two more touchdowns in Week 13, giving the Green Bay wideout eight TDs in the last four weeks and nine overall.
  • Wilson tacked on eight catches for 162 yards in the Jets’ loss to Minnesota. He has 57 receptions for 790 yards and four TDs this season.
  • Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner carries a sizable lead for the defensive rookie honor. But Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen is tied for the league lead with six interceptions. Gardner only has two picks. Both players carry opposing passer ratings when targeted below 60.0.

Here’s a look at the rookie of the year races, as well as the other non-MVP award battles (odds are live so the numbers will move accordingly):
