NHL Global Series Sharks vs. Predators score: Live updates, highlights from the season opener in Prague

The start of the 2022-23 NHL season is here, and the first game will be played on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. The Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks will kick things off as part of the NHL’s Global Series at Prague’s O2 Arena for the first game of the season, which begins at 2:00 pm ET.

Outside of local broadcasts in San Jose and Nashville, the game can be found on the NHL Network.

Coming off a sixth-place finish in the Pacific Division a year ago, the Sharks are trying to find some direction under a new regime that includes general manager Mike Grier and head coach David Quinn. San Jose will have to do that without veteran leader Brent Burns, who was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in the offseason.

The Predators qualified for the postseason for the eighth straight year in 2021-22, but they also suffered their fourth straight first-round exit at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche. In hopes of clearing that hurdle, Nashville traded for veteran defenseman Ryan McDonagh and signed two-way forward Nino Niederreiter to improve the roster. It will be interesting to see how quickly they can meld with the rest of the lineup and make an impact.

Follow along here as the Sharks and Predators begin the 2022-23 NHL season in Prague.
