Darcy Kuemper and Charlie Lindgren to Participate in October Saves

ARLINGTON, Va. – Washington Capitals goaltenders Darcy Kuemper and Charlie Lindgren announced today their participation in the October Saves Goalie Challenge in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The October Saves Goalie Challenge was founded in 2014 by the Ashburn, Va., Xtreme Hockey Club. The challenge encourages goaltenders throughout the country at any age and skill level to pledge money for each save they make during the month of October, with proceeds benefitting charity.

Through the campaign, Capitals fans can pledge funds toward Kuemper and Lindgren www.WashCaps.com/OctoberSaves.

Fans who donate will be entered into a drawing to win an autographed jersey, with one donor receiving a Kuemper jersey and another receiving a Lindgren jersey.

In addition, the top 10 local youth goalies who participate in fundraising for October Saves in the Washington, DC, region will receive a meet and greet with Kuemper and Lindgren, as well as autographed prizes. To participate, goalies can register at octobersaves.com. The first day to count saves was Oct. 1, and the final day is Oct. 31. To date, October Saves has goalies participating from across 46 states and 9 provinces.
