Belmont police reunite married couple with stolen property through Find My Mobile app

A Find My Mobile app has helped Belmont police reunite a married couple with cash, phone and passport that were stolen at a flea market last weekend.

Belmont police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Chris Hannan said husband and wife Peter and Sue Plunkett were trading at the Belmont Rotary Club Flea Market at Belmont Forum car park on Sunday but did not realize until they were back home that some of their personal belongings were missing.

It is alleged 36-year-old woman Bianca Woods went inside the couple’s vehicle at the market and grabbed a satchel containing Mr Plunkett’s English passport, $250 cash, UK pounds and Mrs Plunkett’s Samsung phone.

The couple contacted the police when they returned home and the Belmont police began their inquiries, including checking CCTV footage.

Police say they arrested Ms Woods after finding out where she was through the Find My Mobile app.

She has been charged with stealing offenses, with further charges expected.

Ms Woods appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday before being released on strict bail conditions. She is scheduled to reappear on October 24.
