CARLOS MONARREZ:I tried to watch the Detroit Red Wings’ defense but couldn’t take my eyes off this player
ABOUT LAST NIGHT:Ville Husso made a spotless preseason Detroit Red Wings debut, but the Wings fell, 2-0
Game notes: If you tune into this one hoping to see 6-foot-8 prospect Elmer Soderblom, don’t be surprised to miss him. The big Swede has taken the ice in each of the Wings’ first three exhibitions and is due for a night off. Still, there’s a good chance Tyler Bertuzzi — at 6-1 — will make his 2022 preseason debut in Chicago.
After goalie Ville Husso made his Wings debut on Friday night against the Caps, expect his netminding partner, Alex Nedeljkovic, to get the start in the crease. After Saturday, the Wings have a day off before hosting the Penguins — who they beat, 6-2, in Pittsburgh on Tuesday — on Monday at Little Caesars Arena.
