Tottenham’s £1billion stadium has been transformed into an NFL arena for the Minnesota Vikings vs New Orleans Saints game on Sunday.
Footage has been released showing the transformation of Spurs’ home stadium for the change in sport this weekend – and it is mesmerizing.
The Premier League club boasts the only purpose-built NFL venue outside America with its state-of-the-art retractable pitch as one of the key features.
The incredible design sees the real grass pitch split into three sections before rolling away into a storage area beneath the South Stand.
That reveals the artificial surface underneath with the sidelines being lowered to the same level.
Goalposts are then added after being raised and the remaining American football turf is put in place.
Finally, the lines are all painted accordingly, with the center circle displaying the NFL logo.
The United Kingdom’s Union Jack and American flag are then added to the roof.
The NFL posted the epic timelapse video of how it works ahead of American Football’s return to the arena this weekend.
The stadium – opened in 2019 – was built to host multiple events and with the NFL firmly in mind.
It features dedicated locker rooms for players, officials and cheerleaders as well as its own broadcast, media and medical facilities.
The first NFL game at the stadium took place in October 2019 when the Chicago Bears played against the Oakland Raiders.
This year sees two games played at Tottenham.
The Minnesota Vikings take on the New Orleans Saints in the capital on Sunday.
Then, New York Giants face off against Green Bay Packers, with the venue used twice in two weeks.
The NFL will play three games in total in London during the 2022 campaign, as they aim to continue building the profile of the sport in England.
The final clash will be Denver Broncos against Jacksonville Jaguars, but that match will be played at Wembley and is scheduled for October 30.
