Reigning women’s soccer champions Twin City Saints will attempt back-to-back grand final wins on Sunday.
Taking on Hannans Celtic — who won this year’s Knock-Out Cup — at 10am, Twin City will be aiming for another trophy after winning the minor premiership.
The Saints remained undefeated in the home-and-away season, with only one draw against Hannans Celtic, who beat them to play in the Knock-Out Cup.
In last weekend’s semifinals, Twin City took down Boulder 3-1, while Celtic came out on top over Kalgoorlie College after a close match ended 2-1.
Celtic scored early with a penalty following a handball in the box, with Joeley Goldsmith netting the goal.
Kalgoorlie College’s Michelle Weir managed to equalize after several attempts to break through Celtic’s defense, before Caley Warnock scored the winning goal.
Twin City will also play in the B-grade grand final taking on Kalgoorlie College from 12.30pm on Sunday.
They progressed to the big dance after taking out Hannans Celtic 2-1 in extra time.
Kalgoorlie College made their way into the grand final following their 8-0 win over Boulder.
College’s A-grade men also progressed to a grand final after their 3-0 win over Celtic.
They will come up against Boulder who knocked out Twin City with a 3-1 win.
The A-grade grand final will kick-off at 3pm on Sunday, with all games hosted at the Ray Finlayson Sporting Complex.
