SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University sports information have added two graduate assistants, Erin Gibbons duck Patrick Ramsdaleand added Brenna White as the social media and digital content student assistant.
All three have worked under the sports information director Bill Morgan and excelled in their capacity as a work-study student.
“I’m really excited to have expanded roles this year for Erin, Patrick and Brenna, and to have them join our existing graduate assistant Pearlan Cipriano to form a tremendous sports information staff,” Morgal said. “It is an absolute privilege to be able to work alongside them each and every day.”
Gibbons is a contact for the soccer, basketball and softball teams while serving as a secondary contact for all 20 of SU’s intercollegiate athletic sports. She handles a wide variety of roles that include creating game programs, writing post-game recaps, photography and in-game statistics. Among her other duties include regular contributions to the office’s social media efforts, producing weekly content across four different platforms while specializing in Instagram and Tiktok.
A member of the SU women’s basketball team, Gibbons spent three years as a student worker in the SU sports information office before being elevated to the role of graduate assistant in August 2022. She held many duties as a student employee, including live-event production for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Digital Network, scoreboard operation, videography and in-game statistics.
Prior to Shippensburg, Gibbons also worked as a student employee in the sports information office at Mansfield University under the direction of Ryan McNamara and Drew Patrick.
Ramsdale is a contact for the soccer, basketball and baseball teams while serving as a secondary contact for all 20 of SU’s intercollegiate athletic sports. He holds multiple roles in the office, including tasks such as the creation of game programs, writing post-game recaps, video editing, digital production, and in-game statistics. Among his other duties include regular contributions to the office’s social media efforts, producing weekly content across four different platforms.
He worked for more than two years as a student employee in the SU sports information office before being elevated to the role of graduate assistant in August 2022. Among his duties as a student worker included live-event production for the PSAC Digital Network, videography, digital production and player bios.
As an undergraduate student at Shippensburg, Ramsdale was especially active with Shippensburg University Television (SUTV), holding a variety of roles with the organization including a term as the station’s general manager in addition to roles as the news director and sports director. He has been a part of SUTV productions that have been nominated for three Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards. and won a Mid-Atlantic Emmy for his work as a camera operator for a 2019 broadcast against LIU Post.
White serves as one of two primary social media directors for Shippensburg University Athletics. She coordinates and develops social media strategies for SU’s 20 intercollegiate athletic teams and distributes content across all Raider social media accounts on a variety of platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Her work has resulted in significant growth of SU’s social media platforms and helped expand the department’s digital reach.
White became the primary photographer of Shippensburg University Athletics as a junior student worker in the Spring 2022 semester, regularly taking action pictures at basketball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis and track & field. Her work was featured regularly on the SU athletics website, shipraiders.com, in printed publications including the Philadelphia Inquirer, and across SU social media platforms.
A member of the women’s swimming team at Shippensburg, White is also a member of Tau Kappa, the women’s athletics honors sorority, and Pi Sigma Alpha. In the summer of 2022, White completed internships with the Mansfield Destroyers, a team in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL), and with Hardinge Inc., a leading global manufacturing company.
