Women’s Soccer Falls to Dartmouth, 2-0

Hanover, NH – (August 26, 2022) – Dartmouth’s Charlotte Cyr made four saves, while Aspen Anderson and Aleena Seales each tallied a goal, as the Big Green took a 2-0 decision from the Fordham Rams at Burnham Field in New Hampshire.

Each goalkeeper was called upon early to make a stop, as Charlotte Cyr was able to knock away a shot by Fordham’s Caroline Monaghan in the fourth minute, while Kyla King punched Allie Winstanley’s attempt over the bar in the seventh minute.

King was unable to stop the next Dartmouth scoring chance, as the Big Green took a 1-0 lead. Winstanley played a cross to the top of the six-yard box, finding Aspen Anderson for the goal right in front.

Each goalkeeper was credited with two more saves each, leaving the game at 1-0 at halftime.

Dartmouth got the all-important next goal in the 60thth minute for a 2-0 edge. Aleena Seales worked her way into the box for a shot that glanced off a Fordham player and into the left side of the net for her first goal of the year.

The Rams were unable to get a shot by Cyr, who ended the match with four saves for the shutouts. King, who was making her Fordham debut, finished with six saves for the Rams.

Fordham will next be in action on Thursday, September 1Stwhen the Rams host Hofstra for their home opener on Jack Coffey Field, beginning at 7:00 PM.
