The Boston Celtics champion who revolutionized sports

Even after he has left us, the legacy of Hall of Fame Boston Celtics big man Bill Russell lives on in the lives of the people he touched, whether fellow NBA players, coaches, and executives, the fans who watched the fruits of their labors, or the countless others who benefited from his tireless advocacy.

To remember Russell’s historic impact on the sport of basketball, the folks over at The Score YouTube channel put together a short clip that seeks to memorialize Russell’s impact on the game that ultimately gave him a platform to do so much more in the wider world.

“Ultimately, to distill Russell’s life and career to one moment would be an insult to his outsized legacy, so instead, we’re highlighting the litany of ways in which Russell changed basketball, forever,” they wrote.

Take a look at the video embedded above to see their account of Russell’s imprint on the sport.
